First Day Smiles at PCMS😁

We are so excited to start a new school year and welcome our new students❤️

Students in Mrs. Adams’ & Mrs. Arnold’s math classes recently completed a Paper Plane activity. The students watched a movie, Paper Planes, which was based on a story about a boy’s journey to compete in the World Paper Plane Championships in Japan. After watching the movie, students made their own paper planes and competed with their classmates to see whose plane would fly the farthest.

Below is a link to the released recommendations from Indiana Department of Health, Immunization Division for the 25/26 school year. The immunizations will affect the incoming Kindergarten, 6th, and 12th grade students. Vaccination appointments can be made with the Pike County Health Department or with your healthcare provider. If you would like to schedule with Pike County Health Department, you may call (812)354-8797 to make an appointment. Medical exemptions can be completed by your healthcare provider, and religious exemption paperwork will be available at each school. Thank you and have a GREAT and SAFE summer!

Mrs. Nalley's Tech Ed class recently flew their rockets they made in the rocketry and space expedition!

Congratulations!

PSA to everyone. There are phishing emails coming from government agencies. Many of these are about unpaid tolls and they warn that failure to pay may result in penalties or licenses suspended. We initially received them from the Indiana Department of Education(or so they say), but I have heard reports of others throughout the State receiving them from other state agencies. The email says it comes from one of the agencies, but the email address is not legit. If you receive any emails that seem suspicious, call the person(or department) directly. DO NOT click on the link or reply to the email. This has nothing to do with Pike County School Corporation, but we just want everyone to be safe. Please share with others so they do not get phished. Below is a screenshot of one of these emails.

At PAC yesterday Wyatt Gayhart improved his own 300 hurdle school record to 46.62, Indy Hill improved her own 1,600 school record to 5:42, the boys 4x400 relay (Houchin, Gayhart, Aydelott, & Knight) improved their own school record to 4:08.65, and the girls 4 x400 relay team qualified for the Indiana State Track and Field Championships running a 4:44.36! Congratulations to all the kids. For a full list of places check out the Charger Athletics page!

Happy School Nurses Day to the BEST!

PCMS had a good showing finishing second in all disciplines at the Academic Super Bowl at North Posey Jr.-Sr. High School. Congratulations!
